ABOUT

OUR FOUNDER

Nayila, founder of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy4Me (CBT4Me)  is an accredited BABCP Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and supervisor. Her journey started with the aim of improving psychological equality.

Fast Forward to her current role where her extensive experience of working with adult populations and young people from age 16 has led to symptom reduction across her case load.   Her specialisms are in Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) for recurring depression, Long Term Health Conditions (LTCs) and Narrative Exposure Therapy(NET).

Having worked previously as a teacher in South-East Asia, Nayila is passionate about educating others and has applied this in her training capacity to learners, corporate clients and local authorities.

ABOUT CBT4ME

CBT4Me  was created to deliver therapy for all. The clinic provides a safe, non-judgmental and confidential space that places you at its centre. Our approach is collaborative, empowering and sensitive to your needs.

Our model of therapy is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). CBT is therapy that talks about  how you think about yourself, the world and other people and how what you do affects your thoughts and feelings.  CBT can help you to change how you think ("Cognitive") and what you do ("Behaviour)". These changes can help you to feel better.

Unlike counselling, CBT  focuses on the "here and now" problems and  difficulties. Whilst it is often useful to discuss the past and understand how our experiences  have influenced our lives, CBT mostly focuses on looking for ways to improve your mental wellbeing in this moment.

CBT says that it's not the event which causes our emotions, but our interpretation.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) recommends CBT as the first step in evidence-based  treatment for anxiety and depression related disorders.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN SESSIONS

Therapist will guide you to understand problems in context of thought, emotions, behaviour and action. Collecting various examples, your therapist will present theories to understand your maintenance patterns. Together, you’ll learn how to change unhelpful thoughts and behaviour. Once this understanding is gained, your therapist will ask you to practice behavioural changes in your daily life to discuss ahead of your next session. Sessions are  weekly or bi-weekly.

Our sessions are adapted with the patient in mind. This means although we understand  we are all experiencing life as best as we can, our experiences  may be blurred due to our culture, religious beliefs and learning styles. Our therapists are trained to apply cultural sensitivity in sessions and to adapt protocols based on religious teachings and neurodiversity.
