CBT Techniques – Say Goodbye to Your Phobias

3. Fixing Your Negative Thoughts

This is another effective strategy called Cognitive Restructuring.

During your sessions, you will get to find out and challenge these negative thoughts that are making your fear greater. Your therapist will help you do this by focusing on evidence-based reasoning and then replacing these baseless thoughts with positive ones.

4. Relaxing

You will also learn to relax, which is very important because phobias create a lot of stress in your life. These techniques are called Relaxation Techniques. As the name suggests, they help you learn how you can relax and feel at ease. Relaxation Methods include deep breathing, meditation, progressive muscle relaxation and more. When you practice all these techniques with the help of your therapist, you will be able to manage your anxiety in situations that trigger your phobias.
